... and the Emmy once again goes to broadcast equipment from Rohde & Schwarz

Munich, Jan 18, 2008 - The American National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has awarded an Emmy to Rohde & Schwarz. The company received the award in the category "Monitoring for compliance standards for ATSC & DVB transport streams". Rohde & Schwarz impressed the Academy with its state-of-the-art R&S DVM measurement platform and its many years of experience in this special field. The Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards honor excellence in advances in the use, creativity and adaptation of technology that enhances or improves the consumer experience with media across multiple platforms.

The products of the R&S DVM family provide network operators with all-in-one solutions for a wide range of monitoring, analysis and development tasks in the field of digital TV. The monitoring instruments detect losses in quality during broadcasting and identify defective transport streams. This enables operators to initiate repair measures early enough that viewers do not notice disturbances in reception. The R&S DVM family supports key international digital broadcasting standards. New standards and developments will be integrated into the platform. This ensures that broadcasters can perform their monitoring and analysis tasks in the future as well. The R&S DVM family is already the second generation of realtime analysis equipment for MPEG-2 transport streams from Rohde & Schwarz. The company was also the first to launch equipment of this type more than ten years ago.

At the beginning of January, the coveted award was presented during the 59th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards ceremony at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Rohde & Schwarz is proud to have received its third Emmy award.
