Rohde & Schwarz awarded Royal Airforce Tornado GR4 Contract

Jun 11, 2008 - Rohde & Schwarz is pleased to announce the award of a contract for their R&S M3AR VHF/UHF Airborne Transceivers for the Royal Air Force Tornado GR4 by Ultra Electronics as part of the BAE Systems Capability Upgrade Strategy (Pilot) (CUS(P)) Program.

The CUS(P) programme will provide the UK MOD with upgrades to the Tornado GR4 fleet which will significantly enhance the platforms capability and sustain its position as platform of choice for air operations. Part of the CUS(P) will involve the design, development, integration and embodiment of an upgraded Secure Communications System onto the RAF Tornado GR4 fleet.

The R&S® M3AR transceivers are software based radios providing multiband, multimode, multirole communications in the UHF and VHF Bands with AM, FM and voice and data communications in normal or EPM (ECCM) modes.

With the R&S® M3AR transceivers and other members of the R&S® M3xR radio family, Rohde & Schwarz provide all round air-ground-air communications systems for present and future digital battlefield scenarios.
