Optional extensions
OCXO Reference Oscillator
ensures high absolute accuracy, minimum temperature-dependent drifts and especially high long-term stability.
Reference Frequency Inputs/Outputs
allow synchronization of the DUT or CMD to an internal or external frequency of 2.048, 10, 13, 26 or 52MHz or to the GSM bit clock.
Fast Power Ramp, Phase/Frequency Error and BER Measurement
This option enables fast testing and numeric/graphic display of power bursts and phase and frequency error as well as various BER, Fast BER, RBER and FER test routines.
GSM1900 (DCS1900) Mobile Station Test
The option allows the CMD55 to simulate a GSM1900 base station for fast mobile testing in R&D, production, TQM or service.
AF Measurement Unit with Frequency Counter
For measurements on the audio interface or on modules this option includes an AF generator, a voltmeter, a distortion meter and a frequency counter. Option CMD-B41 enables measurements up to 60MHz as are required for LO alignment. Another application is the testing of handsfree equipment.
High Dynamic Burst Analysis
This option doubles the dynamic range to more than 72 dB and allows the power ramp to be measured in the entire specified GSM/PCN/PCS range. The measurement determines whether the transmitter blanking in the inactive time slots is correct or not.
Spectrum due to Switching and Modulation
The option provides spectrum measurements "due to switching and modulation" according to GSM/PCN/PCS recommendations faster than any spectrum analyzer.
TDMA Signals and Option Carrier
This option provides GSM-specific signals and trigger inputs and is a prerequisite for operating options IEEE-bus Interface and Memory Card Interface.
IEEE/IEC-bus Interface
In addition to the standard-fitted RS-232-C interface, the CMDcan be fitted with this remote-control interface.
Memory Card Interface
Memory cards are a versatile medium for storing instrument setups.
GSM Test SIM
The SIM card is required for most types of radiocom equipment to perform BER measurements in the loop-back mode.
I/Q Demodulation Output and Trigger Input
The option provides signals on the rear panel for further analysis.
