R&S®CMU-B17 Analog I/Q IF interface
CMU IQ/IF Interface Opens the Door to New Applications
An IQ/IF interface with separate access to the IF/IQ signal transmitter and receiver paths is now available for the R&S CMU200 as Option R&S CMU-B17, adding intriguing new functions which are unique for mobile phone testing, and for the first time lets the R&S CMU address a new application for mobile phone chipset testing:
In combination with fading simulators R&S ABFS or R&S SMIQ test a mobile phone under fading conditions
With fading simulator setup, conduct receiver Bit Error Rate (BER) tests under fading conditions on the downlink channel (R&S SMIQ must include the IQ fading simulator, Option R&S SMIQB14).
Test mobile phone chipsets
Most mobile phone chipsets comprise an RF chip and a baseband chip that communicate with each other via an analog IQ interface. Use the R&S CMU-B17 IQ-interface to access the two chips. Option B17 can generate complex IQ signals to meet the relevant standards, even signals originating from a real signaling sequence.
