What makes the R&S ZVT8 special?
- Modern operating concept for quickly and easily selecting parameters
Multiport measurements can be configured quickly and easily by using the "more" dialogs known from the R&S ZVB. Parameters are selected with the mouse or by directly entering the port numbers via an external keyboard. No tiring searches in deeply nested side menus are involved, e.g. when searching for one of the 64 S-parameters. The virtually unlimited number of channels and traces permits all parameters to be displayed without switching between instrument setups.
- High measurement speed
Owing to the true multiport architecture, multiport measurements are several magnitudes of order faster than with all other systems based on switching matrices. An eight-port measurement with the R&S ZVT8 requires only a third of the sweeps needed with switching matrices. The absolute measurement time can be up to six times shorter. In addition, the R&S ZVT8 can measure several paths of a DUT or several DUTs in parallel, i.e. simultaneously.
- High accuracy
The electronic switches of switching matrices have high attenuation as well as limited reproducibility, which directly results in a measurement error. The true multiport architecture of the R&S ZVT8 eliminates these switches and produces the same accuracy on all ports.
- Output power +13 dBm, sensitivity –110 dBm, dynamic range > 120 dB
Owing to its true multiport design, the R&S ZVT8 has the same high output level, sensitivity and dynamic range on all ports.
- Direct Receiver/Generator Access option for greater flexibility and performance
The Direct Generator/Receiver Access option provides extensive means of configuring external test sets with filters and amplifiers for small systems. In addition, the source level increases by as much as 5 dB and the receiver sensitivity by as much as 15 dB. The resulting gain in dynamic range allows larger measurement bandwidths to be used, which thus shortens measurement time by several orders of magnitude.
- Electronic power sweep range of 50 dB
Like the R&S ZVB, the R&S ZVT8 has a power sweep range of more than 50 dB. As a result, active DUTs can be characterized quickly and wear-free without connecting an attenuator.
- 2 DC inputs
Like the R&S ZVB, the R&S ZVT8 has two inputs on its rear panel for measuring DC voltages or low-frequency AC voltages. Therefore, supply currents or detector characteristics can be recorded.
