SGS Wireless Selects Rohde & Schwarz for Laboratory Expansion
SGS Wireless Europe has chosen the R&S® TS8950G GSM conformance test system. This test system will be used by SGS to provide conformance and pre-conformance testing services to customers wishing to achieve PTCRB (850/1900 North American Operators Certification Forum) and GCF (Global Certification Forum) certification for their GSM based product.
PTCRB certification is required for products designed for the North American market and GCF certification is needed by many of the European network operators before a product is considered for deployment on their networks, and of course the Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment (R&TTE) directives necessary for CE marking require a series of tests that can be run on the R&S® TS8950G GSM conformance test system.
“The R&S® TS8950G will complement our existing R&S® TS8950W 3G Conformance and other 2G and 2.5G Protocol and RF conformance test systems and enable our customers to benefit from this enhancement in capability and capacity. SGS Wireless Europe has a strong reputation for quality, being accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to ISO 17025 standards and SGS feel that this enhancement will augment our service to customers significantly.” says Andy Proctor, Business Development Manager of SGS Wireless Europe.
“We have a long and successful relationship with SGS and we are delighted that they have chosen our product in such a competitive market. We look forward to continuing to contribute to the SGS success story” said Carl Garrood, Wireless Sales Manager for Rohde & Schwarz UK.
