The option R&S® SMIQB21 allows the signal decoded by the DUT to be assessed. To do so, the waveform memory is filled with a PRBS-modulated (pseudo random binary sequence) data sequence. The data is decoded by the DUT and forwarded to the R&S® SMIQ as clock and data signals. R&S® SMIQ synchronizes to the known PRBS sequence and counts the bit errors.
