The R&S®AEM100 multiplexer enables ATSC network operators to expand their existing transmitter networks quickly and reliably to ATSC Mobile DTV. It is simply integrated into the system and is compatible with all transmitters. In addition to the main ATSC transport stream, ATSC Mobile DTV transmits video and audio data for mobile receivers. This new standard also makes it possible to set up frequency-efficient single-frequency networks (SFNs), which can be easily implemented using Rohde & Schwarz transmitters.

The R&S®AEM100 is a key component for the operation of ATSC Mobile DTV. It multiplexes the new video/audio data streams and the existing ATSC transport stream. By means of M/H-specific coding and signaling, the IP encapsulator software functionality adds the mobile-receivable contents to the multiplex, where they are combined with the main ATSC contents.
